There is an image that is an attachment but it seems to be missing.

The attachments in viewtopic.php?f=43&t=6280&start=30 are older and they appear to work.

If the other image does work in the original forum could it be missing in the copy? Or is it a difference between .gif and .jpeg

Actually this may be due to some link having taken me inadvertently back to the real forum. Note URLs.

For the first post where the attachment wasn't appearing, I have verified that the file exists, so I'm not sure why it's not appearing. As far as I can tell, the link looks the same as the post where the image is appearing, so I'm not sure what the difference is.

My next thought was to compare to http://forum.daysailer.org to see if the problem exists on the current board, but when I pointed my browser there, I found that our account is suspended! I've emailed Craig to see if he can get is sorted out. I'm hoping we can get that sorted out quickly.

My thought process is that if these issues exist on the current forum, then I'm not going to worry too much about it. If they don't, then I will work on diagnosing and fixing. My main goal is to make sure we have equivalent functionality to the current site before we cut over.

My biggest concern was making sure that email was working. Glad you were able to confirm that as well. As I stated in my email, I was able to confirm that the basic account registration functions all worked and sent the expected emails out.

Oh, oops. I guess I didn't read all your posts carefully...I see you already confirmed that the other attachment was working in the current forum...so I guess I will see if I can figure out what's going on with it.

Hmmm...this is weird:

- The ID of the image is 2824.
- There is an image with that ID in the MySQL database, but the file name (prior to upload) is 'IMG 0500' and the description is 'Close-up of handle and parts'.
- The file in the file system (516e6999ea321fbebf3af18845f16453.jpg) does exist, and it seems to match the record above.
- The image in the post does not seem to match that name or description, so it's a bit of a mystery as to how it refers to the ID of a completely different file.

OK, so I think I figured out what's going on: The post in question was created very recently, on 29-Apr-25. That is the same day that I backed up the database on the live site and refreshed the database on the test site. But I didn't backup / refresh the file system. So the database has a reference to a file that doesn't exist in the file system.

I will make sure that the file system is refreshed as well as the database when I do the cutover.
